Abstract:

Diabase dikes in the West Aghda  (Yazd Province) are located within the Bahramtaj mine in the Central Iran zone. These dikes are dark gray and crops out in the limestone-dolomite rocks. They are located along the east-west faults of the West Aghda. Plagioclase, biotite, amphibole, and pyroxene are the main minerals in these dikes. Plagioclases are andesine, biotite are often iron type (FeO: 24.27-31.57), amphiboles are magnesio-hornblende, and pyroxenes are Augite (En 0.50-0.58, Fs 0.14-0.22, Wo 0.25-0.31). The temperature and pressure of crystallization of these dikes have been investigated with different methods of biotite, amphibole and clinopyroxene thermobarometry. The maximum crystallization temperature is about 1150 °C and pressure less than 5 kbar. The nature of the magma for these dikes is alkaline, and oxygen fugacity is high during the crystallization. The tectonic setting of the dikes in the West Aghda is in WPT.

Petrology, geochemistry and mineral chemistry of Shahrak intrusive body (East of Takab, Northwest of Iran)

The intrusive body of the Shahrak is located between the West Azarbaijan and Kurdistan provinces. Lithologically, this intrusive body consists of granodiorite, monzonite, monzodoirite and monzogobbro, which intruded into Oligo-Miocene sedimentary units and Cretaceous and Precambrian metamorphic rocks. Mineral chemistry studies of granodiorite and monzogabbro rocks show that plagioclases have la...

Petrology and geochemistry of lavas

“This continuity disappears, however, if one considers individual parts of the [Central American] chain and examines separate groups of volcanoes within a restricted volcanic field. It then becomes apparent that the continuity of the province as a whole is the result of grouping excessively large segments of the chain.” A.R. McBirney: Compositional variations in Cenozoic calcalkaline suites of ...

Petrology, geochemistry and origion of Garagheh Granite, North west of Zahadan

Garagheh granitoid is located in the northwest Zahedan batholite and is exposed in Zahedan-Saravan granitoid belt and Sistan suture zone. This granitoid is composed of granite (synogranite, monzogranite) and granodiorite. These rocks have mainly consist of plagioclase, orthoclase, microcline, quartz, biotite and hornbelend with granoular texture. This pluton cut by microdioritic dykes. Garagheh...

Petrology and Geochemistry of the Eocene Volcanic Rocks in the West of Sechangi, Lut Block

The Eocene volcanic rocks exposed in the NW Sechangi area of Lut block, include pyroclastic deposits and lavas. These volcanic rocks are basalt, basaltic andesite, andesite, andesite-trachyandesite, trachydacite, dacite and rhyolite-ignimbrite in composition. Based on our field observations, the volcanic rocks erupted in four stages in the aquous to subaerial environments. The volcanic rocks ar...
